Summer Oh-Nina

<a href="http://s2hmusic.bandcamp.com/track/fifty-seven">fifty seven by S2H</a>

Ok so the story w/ this one; I created this snippet part, created an Mp3 of it, and then preceeded to not save the editing program I was using. Although I still have the snippet, I have lost the ability to make it into a complete song forever, so enjoy.

Happy Summer solstice to all.
4th of July just around the corner.

Sunday Special

Opening day of baseball, National Championship of Basketball tomorrow and the NBA playoffs around the corner. Spring has sprung? Other than that I'm loving the weather and have been able to golf more because of it. Here's a track to hit the links to. Made it in a couple hours over the course of yesterday.

So the brass/trumpet thing on this song was the first file I ever saved with my keyboard. It took 11 months to come back to it and make into a short song but better late than never.

The future

I was following this thing for a few blocks and luckily the guy decided to pull over and turn around but not before I got a picture of it. A three wheel car, and it looks like there is only room for one. It had license plates and everything, even though it sounded like a weed-whacker engine. I dunno where it came from, maybe the future. (click and enlarge)

So I started this track the other day with the beat and decided I wanted to use violins and cellos, but it ended up sounding pretty sad. Added in some weird sound effects and ta-da.

Uh oH!

I think I have unintentionally made a pop/punk song. (*cringes*)
I dunno I just started with the trumpets and the beat fit. Couldn't stop the disaster ball from rolling away so I just went with it. I don't think it's any coincidence that this happened on Friday the 13th.
So yeah, I guess; Everybody get on up and snap your fingers and bob your head to the snow-melting "Spring Hop".

Crazy scientific concepts

So some things in science blow me away to the point where I think about them very often and how they may affect our lives.
The first is a concept called Horizontal gene transfer. This craziness came to my attention after a professor brought it up in a side tangent a few years back. Scientist have found that bacteria and viruses are able to "take up" portions of DNA and incorporate them into there own DNA. This complete changes the way we look at inheritance and evolution even though it may just happen at the micro biotic level.

The second concept is
Quantum entanglement. I read about this phenomenon in Discover magazine's Top 100 Science stories of 2008. This is when two electrons or photons are "linked" to each other no matter how far the distance and will exhibit the exact same occurrences at the exact same time. The article I read was about an experiment done by Swiss scientist with photons separated by 11 miles and they responded instantaneously. Here's a video that might be a little kiddish and bias towards the concept they're trying to push but it gets the point across.

short n' Phat Tuesday ish

So I've had a piece of this sitting on my computer for months. I sent it to a couple friends awhile back and one told me the rythmic synth part sounded like Depeche Mode. (which made me look them up cus I didn't have the slightest idea what they actually sounded like, see here)
Well I came back to it tonight and added a few things, including some phat bass which I'm told I should use more of.
<a href="http://s2hmusic.bandcamp.com/track/fifteen">fifteen by S2H</a>

You know everytime I try making something new I shoot for a genre somewhere between techno and hip hop but it always comes out somwhere near the latter. I guess they are just apples and oranges. (or I can't do hip hop)

Yea, I took that pic... pretty sweet eh?

Scientific Sunday

So I took a trip up to the Seattle Science Center yesterday to check out the Lucy exhibit, which covers the fossil remains of what is believed to be the first up right walking human ancestor.(See here)
I found it to be really interesting and it had a lot more information than I was expecting. The first half of the exhibit is a history of Eithopia,(where the remains were found)and the second half is all about pre-human ancestors and comparing them with modern humans and chimpanzees. In the first half I was surprised by all the empires than were built around the same time as the Romans and complex societies and religions that the people possessed. Also I surprised that origin of Rastifarianism came from people worshiping the leader of Ethiopia,(Haile Selassie) who was formerly known as the Ras Tafari.
It was really a shame that they did not allow photography but I found this piece of information near the end of the exhibit to be amazing.
After the Lucy exhibit, my niece wanted to check out some other things, you'll see.

Short song

Happy Friday! Just thought I'd post up what I'm working on. It's unfinished but whatever.

So yeah, Superbowl fucking weekend eh? This really needs to be a national holiday. Also I feel that Kordell Stewart should do the coin flip. I'm picking the Cardinals, and I hope Anquan either kills or has another freak out.
